Jowan Nute on behalf of Sordya
Jowan is a research assistant and Kernoweger, a speaker of the Cornish language. He has a BA in Indigenous Studies from Ōtākou Whakaihu Waka University of Otago and lives in Kernow (Cornwall). Jowan has authored several pieces on the bilingual blog, Sordya. Running for four years, Sordya is an established community of writers on the left across Kernow and beyond. Aside from writing, Jowan’s activism is focused on supporting young people to learn Kernewek and get involved with the movement for Cornwall’s self-determination, particularly through the youth organisation Kernow Rydh.
